Overview
A center for the study of classical antiquities in Malibu, a museum modeled after the ancient Villa dei Papiri at Herculaneum. Machado Silvetti's master plan creates a new sequence of spaces along the hillside, rooted in ancient landscape techniques. New gardens and naturalistic landscapes anchor the architecture to the site and create integrated environmental art.
My contribution
- —Participated in the Design Development phase and the first half of Construction Documents for the Getty Villa planting design, working with Denis Kurutz.
- —Helped design and draw the planting plans and was responsible for most of the final Design Development plan.
- —Developed the garden and planting design rooted in ancient Roman landscape techniques.
