Beach Tapestry

Manhattan Beach, CA · Residential · 2009

Role — Garden designPractice — Project created while employed by Studio Art Luna.

Overview

A classic three-story beach house unfolds across three lots in Manhattan Beach, composed as a passage toward the sea. Stone paths drift through flowering grasses, palms rise into the salt air, and bamboo encloses quiet courtyards in cool shadow. A sculptural timber fence gives the landscape rhythm and intimacy as the planting loosens toward the dunes.
